This army was one of the best painted in the convention, and Otso was the winner and Megastrategos of the previous DBMättö. This time Fortuna did not smile on the Romans.
"I chose this army mainly because I already had a Sub-Roman British army which morphed pretty easily and the tournament motivated me to actually do the morph. Of course those powerful shock troops with regular generals helped prod me along too. The army turned out to be every bit as difficult to play as everyone seems to say. With the benefit of hindsight I would have been better off taking the ”regular Germans” option (with the foederati foot upgrading to rAx(s) and the horse to rKn(f)), but I couldn’t have managed to paint all those auxilia palatina in time. A nice army, quick to play, I’ll definitely be developing this one further."
